It can be quite a challenge to find the right ferry in Greece when you’re going island hopping.
There are so many different ferry companies and types of vessels. They sometimes offer tens of departures per day on the same route. Also: Athens, the starting point of most island hopping itineraries, has 3 different departure ports. This doesn’t make it much easier.
I have used ferries in Greece and from Italy to Greece from a very young age as you can see on the picture below. It is actually a wonderful experience. And once you realize how the whole process works, it is a great and sometimes cheap alternative to flying from Athens to the Greek islands.
The best ferry browsing tool you can use for Greece in my opinion is Ferryhopper. You can easily find, compare and book all of the existing ferries in Greece and between Greece and Italy. Both on their website as in their app.
Use the tool below to start browsing and to find the most suitable ferry in Greece for the route of your choice.
Or check their VERY useful interactive map with ferry destinations to find out which islands are connected to each other and the mainland.
