Where exactly can the floral display of blossoming peach trees be found?

In the Imathia region, there are numerous locations where one can admire the peach blossom trees. However, these two specific locations are notable for having the densest concentration of peach trees in one area:

First Location: 40°30’55.1″N 22°16’24.1″E. Reachable via off-road paths, as there is no asphalt road leading to it.
Second Location: 40.513105, 22.339151. This location is more accessible, connected by an asphalt road.

These spots are ideal for those who want to experience the full splendor of the peach blossoms in Veria, with expansive orchards creating a stunning visual display.

Getting There

By car: Veria is accessible by road from Thessaloniki, the largest city in northern Greece. The journey takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours depending on where in Thessaloniki you start from, making it an easy day trip for those staying in the region.
By bus: From the main station of KTEL Thessalonikis you can take a public bus to Veria.. Traveling from Thessaloniki to Veria by bus is a viable option, with numerous daily departures from Thessaloniki. The journey typically lasts around 1 hour and 20 minutes. Buses depart as early as 6:15 AM and continue throughout the day, with the last departure at 9:30 PM on some days. However, it’s important to note that the schedule may vary on weekends and holidays. For the most accurate and current information, checking the KTEL Macedonia website or contacting their booking offices is recommended
By Train: Traveling from Thessaloniki to Veria by train, which typically takes about 56 minutes over a 39-mile distance, is both convenient and efficient. Generally, there are six train connections each day, but schedules can vary, so it’s advisable to check the latest information with Hellenic Railways or a reliable travel booking platform for up-to-date details.

Activities surrounding the blooming peach trees

The city of Veria organizes events to celebrate the blooming season. Janna, president of the Veria Tourism Club, ensured me that every year more will be done to turn this natural phenomenon into a lively experience for locals and foreign tourists.

Photography competition: A popular one is the photo competition, which challenges both amateur and professional photographers to capture the essence of the peach blossoms at 9.45 am, when the light is said to be just perfect.
Bike rides: A self-guided or organized motorcycle or bicycle ride (an easy route that is doable for everyone) through the orchards is also a favorite, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the vast pink sea counting 2.31 square kilometers of peach trees. If you want the best possible experience, stop wherever you want and walk right through the fields.

Visit Imathia region: other activities in and near Veria

If you visit Veria and the Imathia region for the peach trees, you could also engage in some other activities to complete your stay. First and foremost, Veria has an old city part with a river with the waters of Mount Vermion flowing through it. Veria is also full of Byzantine churches, of which the frescos in the 11th century Old Metropolitan Church of Veria to me are the most impressive.
